After months and months of hard work by everyone at the farm, Tuesday saw the commencement of the two day grandfinal for our 15 yearlings with ten being consigned.
Achieving the first million dollar yearling ever sold from the farm, Lot 158: Snitzel x Ocean of Tears colt was knocked down to Sun Stud for $1,100,000.
The stunning looking colt is from a family with serious commercial appeal; dam Ocean Of Tears is a half-sister to the very speedy filly Hips Don’t Lie, who has subsequently flourished at stud as the dam of stakes-winning duo Ennis Hill and Lake Geneva whose Group placings include the Group 1 Golden Slipper and Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes.
“I’ve said it already, but he’s the best Snitzel I’ve laid a hand on or had anything to do with. He’s all quality with the family behind him,” stated Royston Murphy on the stunning colt who was sold on behalf of a client.
