Sledmere Stud sales graduate Snapdancer recorded her second win at Group 1 level when leading from start-to-finish in the $1 million Magic Millions Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.
Winner of the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes towards the backend of her pervious campaign, the 6-year-old daughter of Choisir landed the first major feature of the new Victorian racing season under a brilliant front-running ride by Ethan Brown.
Snapdancer is trained in partnership by Ciaron Maher & David Eustace for a group of owners managed by Brad Spicer and took her record to seven wins and seven placings — from just 20 starts — for $2,027,620 in earnings.
The Sledmere Sales team consigned Snapdancer for the 2018 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where she was purchased by Spicer Thoroughbreds for $180,000. In addition to her victories at Group 1 level, she also is a winner of $1 million Magic Millions Fillies & Mares — the same very valuable event won by fellow Sledmere Stud sales graduate Invincibella on three occasions.
Speaking after victory in a race previously won by such luminaries as So You Think (NZ), Makybe Diva, Sunline (NZ) and the immortal Phar Lap (1931, winning co-trainer Ciaron Maher suggested that Snapdancer might now being considered for a slot in the $15 The Everest in October.
