Sledmere Stud graduate Revolutionary Miss recorded the fourth Pattern Race win of her distinguished career when displaying her customary degree of determination to land the prestigious Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes over 1400m on the Black Caviar Lightning Day program at Flemington.
Already a Group race winner at 2-, 3- and 4-years of age before Saturday’s success, the first-crop daughter of Russian Revolution took her career record to five wins and six placings from 22 starts when securing a rails run in the straight and overcoming Forbidden City over the closing stages in a thrilling conclusion to the coveted fillies and mares feature.
Ridden by Michael Dee on behalf of Peter & Paul Snowden, Revolutionary Miss now boasts victories in the Group 2 Blue Diamond Prelude (F) (1100m) as a juvenile; the Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1600m) in her Classic year; and the Group 3 Summoned Stakes (1600m) earlier in the current season when racing as a 4-year-old.
In addition to her four wins at either Group 2 or Group 3 level, Revolutionary Miss has also twice placed in Group 1 company — in the 2022 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and the Thousand Guineas (1600m) later in the same year.
Speaking after her latest black-type success, co-trainer Peter Snowden remarked: “She’s very genuine and never runs a bad race. It set up nicely from a good barrier draw today.”
Snowden added: “She’s a credit to all her owners. They’ve been patient and I’m so happy that they’re rewarded now … There’s a lot of [upcoming] options here and in Sydney, and I’m pretty sure she’ll go to the May or June sale this year and she’ll be a very valuable commodity. Maybe $1-1.5 million now. ”
Revolutionary Miss has been a massive success story for Triple Crown Syndications. Bought for $195,000 at the 2021 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale, the Sledmere Stud foaled, raised and sold graduate has now amassed $1.4 million and, as Snowden indicated, seems certain to make seven figures when offered as a breeding prospect by her ownership group.
