Two days of trading during the 2024 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale came thick and fast with Sledmere Stud again leaving its imprint on proceedings. When the 48-hour auction had come to a halt, 12 of the lots our sales team presented had realised just short of $5 million in receipts — a figure which again put us firmly in the leading vendors list at the revered bloodstock auction.
For the record, statistics made available by Inglis put Sledmere Stud firmly in the top-10 vendors with an aggregate of $4,950,000. Fourteen lots were offered, with only two leaving the sales complex unsold.
Our many highlights included a home-bred daughter of Zoustar from Invictus Salute fetching $950,000 (Lot 82), and a Justify (USA) colt — sold on behalf of our great clients RIFA Mustang — realising $900,000 (Lot 319). A son of Exceed And Excel was another to make in excess of half-a-million dollars when knocked-down to James Harron Bloodstock Colt Partnership for $550,000 (Lot 140).
https://twitter.com/SledmereStud/status/1778234798437433853Much like the sale in general, the sums for which our 12 lots sold were very well met by our clients and resulted in an average of $412,500.
In addition to James Harron, the list of buyers of the yearlings we had to offer read like the ‘Who’s Who’ of domestic and international bloodstock agents and included — but in no particular order — the likes of Andrew Williams Bloodstock (FBAA), Boomer Bloodstock (FBAA) and John Foote Bloodstock (FBAA), as well as David Redvers, Ciaron Maher Bloodstock and the China Horse Club / Newgate / Go Bloodstock / Trilogy collective.
While the sale itself only went for two days, the inspection period proved to be demanding for everyone in attendance due to some monsoon-like conditions which witnessed the Riverside Stables complex hit hard. However, the Sledmere Stud sales team lived right up to its usual high standards and delivered an outcome of which each member can be proud.
