Sledmere Stud’s representation at the 2024 Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale was highlighted by a seven-figure Lot when Ulanova (NZ) was sold for $1.2 million on Day 1 of the three-day auction.
A Group 1 winning 2-year-old in New Zealand, Ulanova (NZ) went through the Bundall sales ring late on Tuesday afternoon and proved to be one of the more significant purchases of the day when sold to Andrew Williams Bloodstock (FBAA). The daughter of the I Am Invincible stallion Santos was sold as a breeding proposition only.
Our sales team’s only other offering on the same day saw dual Listed Race winner I’mlovin’ya offered as Lot 566 and sold for $650,000 to Widden Stud. Also sold as a breeding proposition only, the expectation is that she will be covered by Zoustar this coming breeding season.
Three other broodmares in the Sledmere Stud consignment were successfully sold on the Gold Coast this past week. Most notably, Lot 763 — an imported daughter of Dark Angel named Geoffrin (GB) and offered in foal to Golden Slipper winner Stay Inside — went for $160,000 when secured by Middlebrook Valley Lodge.
The Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale brought the curtain down on the 2024 sales season for the Sledmere Stud team which has been ‘on the go’ since the first week of January until the final week of May.
